Dear squirrels in my front yard:

Yes, I have a few pumpkins in my front yard that I've placed out for decoration. Aren't they beautiful? I had them for Halloween, and since autumn is still around, I figure that they're still perfect on the patio of my little cottage. The orange really helps bring out the magnificence in the red and yellow leaves and fallen pine needles that cover the ground (unless the gardening guys come by, which they do every Wednesday morning with their dang leaf blowers…).

I see you've noticed. After all, you've only taken about a dozen bites out of two of my three pumpkins and left nice big gashes in them!  Now yes, I am aware that all living things need to eat. However, I notice that the pumpkin on my landlord's porch remains untouched, as well as several pumpkins decorating the houses around us have also retained their pristine look. I ask you, do you have something against me, squirrels? Did I offend you at all? Is that why you keep eating my pumpkins and not anyone else's? I kindly ask that you LAY OFF MY PUMPKINS!

If you do not comply with my wishes, then I'm afraid I must declare war on you bushy tailed creatures. With the amount of pine trees around, I have plenty of ammo available to me. Don't twist my arm.

Love,

The Lady who lives in the cottage

===================================================

In all honesty, I would not throw anything at a squirrel. A seagull, or "sky rat", perhaps, but not a squirrel. But lately they've been chewing on my pumpkins and I really do wish they'd stop. My mom thinks it's absolutely hilarious and adorable. She tells me when she comes over, "Aw, the squirrels are hungry." I think it's odd that they choose only to nibble at my pumpkins and not the other ones around me. Oh why? Oh well. Next year I'll be prepared for this!

I'd like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving now for I'll be at my grandmother's tomorrow. While I'll have internet on my iPhone, I hate to write long entries on it. I already hate texting and using such a small touch screen. No thank you. So I'll write it here right now. Yay! Happy Turkey Day! I'm so happy that, this year, I'll get to spend it with my family. Last year I had to work Black Friday and it sucked major!

Speaking of Black Friday, hah! This is the first year I don't have to work it after quitting Target! The last few years I haven't attended the dinner at my grandmother's because of it, but now that's all over! Which is great because last year sucked something awful having to be surrounded by people in the electronics department who pushed, shoved, and demanded that I fulfill their every demand. Hmph! No longer. I don't get the appeal of Black Friday. I really just don't.

Thankfully my brother will get to come to Thanksgiving too, even though he does have to work Black Friday. Nice thing is, he doesn't have to work the shift that'll keep him away from getting together with his family. Which means three things:

1) Yay! Spending time with family and a good dinner!

2) Yay! Playing BioShock: Burial at Sea with my brother when he sleeps over at my place!

3) Yay! I finally get to watch the movie "The World's End" which is the last movie in the Cornetto Trilogy! YES!

Ladies and gents, it's party time!
